Saks Fifth Avenue Digital Store Honored with a Webby

LiveArea client Saks Fifth Avenue continues to win awards for its digital webstore launched late last year. Recently, the brand received recognition for user experience in the Webby Awards, the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet.

In the category of website and mobile sites, the digital store — built and deployed on Salesforce Commerce Cloud by LiveArea — was honored for user experience delivered through innovative design and useful functionality. The recognition comes from the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a judging body composed of more than two thousand industry experts and technology innovators.

The digital store enables Saks to propel its personalization efforts while providing flexibility to make future enhancements to its digital strategy. Saks.com now provides a more seamless shopping experience through enhanced core functionality, improved site speed across desktop and mobile, as well as enhanced search capabilities.

The site allows customers to add items directly to their cart or “Wish List” from the product array, and product pages now feature a stylized “Complete the Look” section with the ability to add items directly to cart. Additional filtering options are also available to provide a quicker and easier shopping experience, including Buy Online, Pick Up in Store (BOPIS), Same Day Delivery, Preorder, and Currently Available. Depending on viewing preference, shoppers can also choose to view items on or off-model.

Multiple gold awards

In addition to the Webby award, the Saks site received multiple gold AVA Awards late last year, including best business-to-consumer website and eCommerce storefront. Similarly, Luxury Daily named Saks Fifth Avenue “Luxury Retailer of the Year” in January for its “adaptability and successful digital advancements amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In addition to assisting with replatforming the Saks Fifth Avenue digital store, LiveArea works with Hudson’s Bay Company, Saks’ parent company. Recently, we implemented a marketplace for Hudson’s Bay. The retailer now can react to consumer trends, expand its assortment, and onboard quality sellers from around the world in a matter of days.

As part of Hudson’s Bay’s digital-first strategy, the marketplace is fully integrated so that customers have the same exceptional experience they are accustomed to on thebay.com and the Hudson’s Bay App, including the ability to earn and redeem Hudson’s Bay Reward points on all marketplace items. The launch of Marketplace follows the re-launch of thebay.com on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, a project LiveArea completed in April 2020.
